CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese awarded the Ecological Surveillance award
CSI Madhya Kerala Diocese has been awarded for an outstanding contribution to ecological surveillance, by Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The award ceremony was on 2nd November 2009 at the Royal Residency,Windsor Castle, United Kingdom.
Rt. Rev. Thomas Samuel, the Bishop of Madhya Kerala Diocese has authorised CSI church London to attend the function and receive the award on the former's behalf. This delegation came to our Parish's honour on a short notice and our member Dr. Philip John received the award for the same.
The Windsor Celebration is being hosted by Alliance of Religions and Conservation (ARC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). His Royal Highness the Prince Phillip hosted the core event at Windsor Castle on November 2nd; Ban Ki-moon is the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations was the guest of honour. HRH The Prince Philip is Patron or President of some 800 organisations.His special interests include scientific research and development, the encouragement of sport, the welfare of young people, and conservation and the environment. Prince Philip was the first President of WWF-UK from its formation in 1961 to 1982, and International President of WWF from 1981 to 1996. He was the Founder of ARC in 1995, has hosted the lunch on November 3 at Windsor Castle.
